There were a lot of massive shifts and losses yet there are also some who found opportunities. For Filipino inventor and businessman, Gary Vasquez, COVID-19 may be a disaster but it also provides opportunities. Misty Kool, his mist-dispensing innovation eventually became popular and truly useful in this pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Misty Kool is a misting system that sprays ultra-fine microns of water to cool off any area. It cools the air and repels insects, dust, smoking, and pollen. <\/p>\n<p>At the virtual launch of his book, Life of a Filipino Inventor, on Wednesday, March 2, he shared how he came up with the idea of inventing Misty Kool.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.facebook.com%2FMistyKoolPH%2Fphotos%2Fa.1628291650810083%2F2389514298021144%2F%3Ftype%3D3&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"497\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI invented it for myself, just to satisfy my curiosity to solve the problem,\u201d he said, sharing that it all started during the summer season when the heat was uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo marami akong mga kaibigan na pumunta sa akin at nakikipagkwentuhan kung saan ako madalas. They&#8217;d notice the misting machine at yung mga kaibigan kong dumating, tinatanong na \u201cSaan mo nakuha yan?\u201d, sabi ko, \u201cGinawa ko\u201d. Nung sabi sa akin, \u201cPare gawan mo nga ko\u201d, so yung kaibigan ko, ginawan ko,\u201d Vasquez added.<\/p>\n<p>From there on, more people learned and ordered Vasquez\u2019s invention through seeing the machine from his friends. Other clients came in, such as restaurants, factories, warehouses, and even private homes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.facebook.com%2FMistyKoolPH%2Fphotos%2Fa.1628291650810083%2F2389116708060903%2F%3Ftype%3D3&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He also shared that Misty Kool already has several lines, such as a humidifier. It was also during the pandemic that his misting cannon made headlines. \u201cI was sanitizing the palace, villages, using the misting cannon,\u201d he said. He also added that misting is an important factor in this pandemic as it sanitizes the air. <\/p>\n<p>Vasquez is still hopeful even at this time of the pandemic. \u201cAfter this terrible COVID, let us learn how to love each other, respect each other, suportahan ang sariling atin,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Vasquez also built Vazbuilt in the 1990s, a company that produces prefabricated construction materials. He added that building a house requires too much work and too many expenses. He also shared his sentiment on how expensive it is to build a house yet getting a car is less expensive so with Vazbuilt, he wants to teach people how to build their homes and they will just supply the materials.<\/p>\n<p>His book \u201cThe Life of a Filipino Inventor\u201d is now available at Central Books.
