{"id":255862,"date":"2024-05-14T15:39:30","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T07:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diplomatic-fuchsia-armadillo.46-250-226-234.cpanel.site\/dilg-kalinisan-drive-collects-34m-kilograms-of-waste-january-to-april\/"},"modified":"2024-05-14T15:39:30","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T07:39:30","slug":"dilg-kalinisan-drive-collects-34m-kilograms-of-waste-january-to-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diplomatic-fuchsia-armadillo.46-250-226-234.cpanel.site\/?p=255862","title":{"rendered":"DILG &#8216;Kalinisan&#8217; Drive Collects 34M Kilograms Of Waste January To April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said 34.4 million kilograms of waste were collected from nearly 21,000 villages during the nationwide &#8220;Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan&#8221; (KALINISAN) program from January to April this year.<\/p>\n<p>DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos said in a news release Monday that the weekly cleanup is a longstanding commitment of the national government to apply \u201cbayanihan\u201d (cooperation) and ensure cleaner and greener communities.<\/p>\n<p>As of April 15, the cleanup drive had already gathered 580,224 participants from 20,974 villages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe numbers are encouraging and a clear demonstration of the Filipino people&#8217;s solidarity,&#8221; Abalos said.<\/p>\n<p>The Kalinisan program was in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Saturday, with some of the 930 participants conducting urban gardening.<\/p>\n<p>Barangay Holy Spirit reported 92 streets and 6,200 structures have been cleared within the past six months, mostly through voluntary demolition.
